    If you want to learn more about hiking and camping in Montana the first thing I recommend is that you buy a copy of the excellent book Hiking Montana by Bill Schneider. This is the classic hiking guide for Montana and in 2004 the 25th anniversary edition was released.  I can't begin to tell you what a great tool this book is. It provides an excellent overview of hiking and camping in all parts of Montana. The hikes described are very representative of what you can find in an area and I consider this book to be a "must have" for anyone interested in camping and hiking in Montana .
