Rattin Campground on Rock Creek Red Lodge, MT

Rattin Campground is on Rock Creek just off US 212, the Beartooth Highway, 8 miles from downtown Red Lodge, MT. Rattin Campground is one of two campgrounds on the east side of Rock Creek. It’s small and generally quiet even though it’s close to the highway.

M-K Campground on Rock Creek near Red Lodge, MT

M-K Campground is located alongside Rock Creek about 15 miles from Red Lodge, MT. It’s on the Rock Creek Road about 3 miles from the Beartooth Highway. Sitting at an elevation of 7,500 ft, M-K is remote, quiet, and scenic making it a place to vacation or spend the night.

Limber Pine Campground on Rock Creek

Limber Pine campground sits beside Rock Creek less than a mile from the Beartooth Scenic Highway. It’s right next to the Greenough Lake Campground and the two share a camp host. Limber Pine is a destination in itself but it’s also a great place to spend a night when traveling the Beartooth Scenic Byway.

Greenough Lake Campground

The Greenough Lake Campground sits in the trees alongside Rock Creek 12 miles SW of Red Lodge, MT. It’s less than a mile from the famous Beartooth Highway and is great as a destination or for highway travelers.

Parkside Campground on Rock Creek

Parkside Campground is located just off the Beartooth All American Highway (US 212) 12 miles SW of Red Lodge, MT (56 Miles E of Yellowstone Park). The campground is right on Rock Creek and features 28 campsites less than a half-mile from the highway.

Lily Lake Camping, Fishing & Boating

The Lily Lake camping area is a partially developed campground at 7,670 ft on the shore of Lily Lake. Although it is officially classified as dispersed camping, Lily Lake has 5 sites with picnic tables, three shared steel bear-proof food boxes, and a vault toilet. There is no water and no steel fire rings.

Lake Creek Campground in Wyoming

The Lake Creek Campground is located on the Chief Joseph Highway (WY 296) about a mile south of the junction with the Beartooth Highway (US 212). This small campground features 6 forested sites and is administered by the Clark’s Fork Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest.

Crazy Creek Campground on the Beartooth Highway

Located on the Beartooth Highway 11 miles east of Cooke City, MT and 15 miles from Yellowstone Park, the Crazy Creek campground has 16 campsites near Crazy Creek. A special feature is a short trail to the scenic Crazy Creek Falls. Crazy Creek Campground is in the Clark’s Fork Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest on the Wyoming section of the famous Beartooth Highway.

Pilot Creek Dispersed Camping

The Shoshone National Forest allows dispersed camping along a mile or so of the Beartooth Highway in the Pilot Creek area. There is one large area on the south side of US 212 about 9 miles east of Cooke City which has multiple undeveloped campsites as well as a vault toilet. There are a number of additional potential campsites on both sides of the road for a mile or so. While most of these sites have “user-built” fire rings, there are no other amenities.

Fox Creek Campground on the Beartooth Highway

The 33 unit Fox Creek Campground is located along the Wyoming stretch of the Beartooth Highway. It’s in the Clark’s Fork Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest. The campground is 11 miles from the NE entrance to Yellowstone Park and the closest community is Cooke City which is 7 miles away.
