Parkside is one of three campgrounds that are very close together on the main Rock Creek road just off of US 212. Parkside is closest to the highway followed by Greenough and Limber Pine. All three are within a mile of the highway. Parkside is right on Rock Creek and the two campground loops are on opposite sides of the creek. Each site has a table and steel fire ring. There are centrally located pit toilets and water supply. Bear-proof trash receptacles are nearby.

Parkside Campground gets a lot of use and it often fills up. To make sure you have a site you can reserve a campsite online in advance. Visit Parkside Campground Reservations for more information. Although many sites can be reserved, about 20% are held back and are available on a first come, first served basis. You need to check at the campground to find out if any of these sites are available. As with most campgrounds in the area, it’s best to arrive as early in the day as possible if you hope to secure an unreserved site.
If the Parkside Campground is filled there are a lot of other choices. Greenough Lake and Limber Pine campgrounds are less than 1/4 mile further on the road. In addition there are other nearby sites. Visit our guide to Beartooth Highway Campgrounds for information on all of the campgrounds.

Fishing, Hiking, Scenic Drives and more
Parkside Campground offers a lot of recreation opportunities. Besides it’s proximity to the Beartooth Highway, there are many hiking trails in the area. Greenough Lake is a short distance away and Rock Creek offers great fly fishing opportunities. The Rock Creek road is a great place to take a bike ride and it’s easy to just relax and enjoy nature in such a peaceful place.
Even if you only have a little time, a visit to nearby Greenough Lake is recommended. You can walk there from your campsite or you can drive to the trailhead parking area which is located in the Greenough Lake Campground.
Always remember this is bear country. Carry bear spray and make sure to store your food in a vehicle or one of the bear-proof cabinets in the campground.
